Understanding Assessments

Assessments allow organizers to quantify individual support.  With the Organizers Toolbox, people can be assessed on a limitless number of questions and criteria.  An assessment is composed of 3 parts:

  • The Assessment Question.
  • The Assessment Description.
  • The Assessment Value.

The Assessment Question

The Assessment Question is the question that you will be testing various levels of support.  For example, the question may any of the following:

  • Will this person sign an Authorization Card in support of the Union? 
  • Did the person wear a pro union button when asked to?
  • Will the Person vote for Jerry Springer for Senator?
  • Will the person become a donor to our organization?

The Assessment Description
The Assessment Description let’s you know in words what the responses are from the invidual.  Here are some examples for a few of the Assessment Questions above.
Will this person sign a Auth. Card in Support of the Union?

  • Sign and is a Leader
  • Signed Card
  • Undecided
  • Leaning No
  • Anti Union
  • Unassessed


Will the Person vote for Al Frankin for Senator?
  • Yes
  • Undecided
  • No

Will the person become a donor to our organization?
  • Donate $10,000 or more
  • Donate $5,000 - $9,999
  • Donate $1,000-$4,999
  • Donate $500-$999
  • Donate $1-$499

The Assessment Value
The Assessment Value gives you a chance to quantify the results to better analyze your responses and your success in order to be more objective in developing your organizing strategy.  Here are some examples of assessment values brining it all together from above.
