Organizations Tab in the Person Module

The Organizations Tab in the Person Module allows a campaign to keep track of the various relationships in the community but outside work a person has.  This type of information can be particularly helpful in a campaign.

To link a worker in a project to an Organization (that is not their employer) click on the Orgs Tab and then click the small circle in the title bar (Figure 1)

This will bring up a search box which will allow you to search for existing Organizations.

If the Organization Name you’ve typed in does not find any matches, you can create a new organization on the fly.  If an Organization is found, you can also edit it through this screen.

If you click “edit Organization” a new screen will be displayed which allows you to display which fields you’d like to edit.  In this example I’ve chosen to add the fields Name, Abbreviation, Location, Organizing Target, Assessments, & Affiliations.

Click “done” and a form with those fields for that Organization will display.  Type in any information that you’d like to edit for the new organization.

After linking the worker to the new Organization, you can add specific details such as the person’s role in that Organization and any notes.  In this example the worker is a member of the congregation and the notes indicate she attends Sunday services at 10 a.m.

Now that you’ve got this information saved to a person’s record you’ll find several reports that include Organization details on workers in your campaigns.
