A Filter in Organizers’ Toolbox is the tool used to select a subset of records in the database. For example, if you are organizing a employer and you only want to see the people who work in a particular department, you would use a filter to see that department so that you can look only at those records. A filter can be used in many complex ways to work with particular subsets of records.
To demonstrate how you can use the filter to limit the record you want to see, we’ll start with a simple filter and then add different components to the filter until we arrive at a very limited subset of records.
Click on the Filter button at the bottom of the person form.
When the new form appears, click on the “Jobs” folder in the left pane, and then click on the entry “Department.”
After clicking on Department, a new filter screen will appear. Place your cursor in the filter box and type the first few letters of Radiology into the box. The list will be limited to only those records that had “Rad” within the department name. Double-click the Radiology Department and that department will be moved to the right side of the screen, into the “Selected Items” section.
Click “OK” and then “Done.” You’ve now successfully filtered for any people within the Radiology Department
We’ll retain the filter criteria from the previous example for this example. Click on the filter button at the bottom of the Person form. When the screen appears click on the “Jobs folder and then the “Auth Card - Card Signed” item as shown below
After clicking on the Auth Card- signed item a new form will appear. Place your cursor on the item that says “signed” and then click on the arrow pointing right.
the item that says “signed” will be moved to the right pane. Click OK and then done. You’ve now selected the subset of people who have signed cards in the Radiology Department
For this example we will retain the filter criteria from the previous exmple.
Click the filter button at the bottom of the person form as in previous examples. When the new screen appears click on the folder that says “Actions” and then the item that says “Participated”. A new window will appear. Click the radio button that says “yes. And click “OK
Click done. We’ve now selected the subset of workers in the Radiology Department who have signed an Authorization Card and attended one Action.
